GarageBand for iPad

Me too. I use it more than my Macbook.

I agree that GB is a great sketchboard, but imagine how much better of a sketchboard it would be with a piano roll type of midi editor, and midi export. You could actually start something on the iPad in the middle of the woods with the BS drums and sounds, and bring it home and import the midi into a DAW or MPC. With those simple additions, I wouldn't even mind not being able to upload my own samples.

Another feature that would be nice is track bouncing. Being able to bounce drum tracks together would make it so that you could save tracks and mix and match the multiple kits without tying up a track for a hat, and one for a kick etc. 8 tracks is limiting, but could be alleviated with track bouncing.

Apparently we'll need, as of yet unreleased, updates for Garageband and/or Logic on Mac OSX before we can fully interchange the .band projects properly, according to an Apple employee. This is mostly what I was interested in, so I'll wait unless someone knows differently.

I`m with you a midi editor for GB iPad I can shift notes and edit and send to my DAW or MPC in the future. I do hope that Apple actually goes for a mini logic for iPad on the real. At the same the iPad can make some cool sounds with those smart instruments with the build in chord memorizers and such. And if you have a guitar or other instrument you can run them through the amps. The sampler is simple and fun I sampled my wife`s voice over the quake news and make a apprgerated instrument keyboard to play over a simple beat. And like you say the bounce in track function would be a great plus since we are limited to 8 tracks. I do like the audio recorder to record and sample voices instruments and so on onto a track.

It is a first step with Apple GB on the iPad. Out of all the music apps I used on it so besides my electribe and OSC app is one of the best for fun and messing around.
