deleting while play/recording

Hello,
I try to use the 4000 for live playing along midi synced audio loopers.
When i have a 4 bar loop going on the mpc i can overdub as many tracks as i want but,
when i make a mistake i don't know how to erase it without stopping the playback.
If i do stop i stop the synced loopers as well....
Any work around?

have you tried holding the delete button and the pad/or key the sound was triggered from? usually works for me and i'm pretty sure the sequence has to be playing to do it this way.

Yup ^^ thats how its done, and you can use noterepeat and press the pad if you have problem nailing a single hit, no need to hold the delete button though, if it is lit, then its activated.

ok thanx that works! but what if it is a keyboard part, say a solo.....
do you have to sit on your keyboard......to press all notes?

oh, never seen any reason to swap, never had any real problem or encountered bugs with the one i got either, but seen other people having more probs with bugs and stuff with the newer ones, so i figured i might aswell keep the one i got.. would definitely be interested in seeing a third party developer making a new OS for the 4k though, that would be awesome.. adding proper new features etc

i want realtime reverse playback of sequences by using q-link

id also like a "humanizing" function that randomly adds space between hits and where i can go from subtle to extreme changes by having it assigned to a q-link.. and it would be nice to be able to assign swing and the earlier/later function to the q links too, maybe that is possible with a newer OS though.. i wouldnt know, but there are loads of things that they could do.. and things like being able to use the 2nd sequence function whilst in songmode.. realtime control over timesignatures by using q links too would be awesome

Hi again!

Anybody on how to delete notes on multiple pads....or a solo played on a connected
keyboard. I can only get the erase button to work on played parts where i remember
which parts and pads i played. This is when the sequencer should continue play/rec!

Yeah, obviously you need to know where a sound is located in order to delete it.. Just keep the erase button off and press pads until you find the sound you want to delete, then turn it back on.. If you are doing a live show and are worried you will mess up your sound by pressing pads when searching for a sound, then there isnt much you can do about that.. well, you can use note repeat and set the timing to 1/8th and try to make your search a part of the music, and it might still sound bad if you hit a pad that has a sound that wont fit where and when you press it.

all i can think of now is to mute the faulty track and move on to the next to record again...

I have 16 squares drawn out on paper then each square is divided into how many banks I'm using for that track so i know where everything is at a glance, also it helps to label all your tracks and try to have one pad/sample per track if you got the room, that way you can edit sh1t easier live
