what can i use to save

i ordered a zip drive with my mpc 2000 classic which i recieced a couple weeks ago, anyways i live in australia and the zip drive was from the usa, i plugged it in using a converter but it blew the zip drive and it started smoking...now whenever i turn it off i lose all my work...obviously not stoked about that..what can i get asap to be able to save my beats??

ASAP - floppies.

When the smoke clears - card reader.

There are literally hundreds of threads about this here, many within just the first page of this very forum, so do a little research and you should be good to go.

ps. one other option is to just record / track out your beat to 'tape'...I say tape meaning everything from cassette tape to digital storage such as a sound recorder on your computer.

i tried to save to floppy but it only saved my beat not the sample as well, is there a way to get the sample saved on the floppy as well? cheers dude

Yes. When you save your APS or PGM file, make sure the option is set to 'SAVE WITH SOUNDS' or 'SAVE WITH WAVES'.

SOUNDS = *.snd file - native mpc format, small performance boost.
WAVES = *.wav file - standard PC sound format. Can be used very easily on a computer.

The APS/PGM file needs to be in the same folder as the sounds.
