Technics vs Numark (SOUND QUALITY ONLY)- SAmpling

I know this is a topic beat in the ground. But EVERYTHING I find is all about the feel,torque,build,durability, blah blah. I dont care about none of that . IM only using it for sampling so Im only care about the sound quality. Will a Technics 1200 and a Numark TTX1 sound exactly the same with the same Arkiv needle on it?

Has anyone ever put the 2 up with each other for just sound quality for sampling?

normally the needle depicts the sound, but with numark's build quality you might get unwanted rumble

So has anyone one here ever heard a comparison with both tables on the same needle?

my opinion is a bit biased..........but i would tend to think that there is a solid reason why the technics are industry standard and a dj fav for many many years

you don't need 1200's if all your doing is sampling

If everything is setup correctly, they will sound the same. Focus on stylus/cart and phono preamp/mixer quality, because that will decide the fidelity of either, in most cases....like Grenozh said. There are arguments that tonearm shape will affect sound also but it's accepted that it will be to a smaller degree than the previously mentioned.

I've never used a turntable with USB or S/PDIF out yet, for sampling, so can't comment on those.

yea for sampling it dont matter, however durability and lifespan expectancy I would put money on techs, plus they hold their value....I got numark but I wish I got tech instead

The stylus won't sound exactly the same but for most of us it would. An audiophil will hear a difference and many audiophils won't even listen to a direct drive turntable cause TT with an external motor sound better.

peace
