sound cards anyone?

im lookin to get a low priced sound card to record off my 1000 to my pc.
i would like to stay under 150 bills if possible and i was just wonderi wat do you all use and what inputs do they have...

I find it much easier to just resample internally and transfer to the PC via USB. Then you are not limited by the sound cards AD converters. You won't get any generation loss. Of course you will need to have upgraded the RAM in your MPC. If you don't have too many samples loaded you should have plenty of room to resample internally. You only need 10 Megs per minute, so unless you are doing 10 minute songs you should be good.

By the way, for under 150 bones you are not going to find a professional sounding card unless you find a used one. I bought a used Gina 24bit for 175 bones but I got lucky.

yeah i picked up an emu 1212m for $189. Maybe you can find it on ebay for a bit cheaper.

Wow, that's a good price. Is it a discontinued model? of course I would definately do some checking and looking for reviews, compatibilityissues etc. on this card before I purchased it.

yo m-audio delta 66's are goin for lik $180 on ebay. I got mine like 6 months ago for $300. I would get that. Its got 4inputs
also the delta 10 is real cheap too

m audio are probaly the best value for money. i have the delta 410 and it works for me, the good thing is tht you can snyc up to four of those cards together in a single machine, so in fact if you hace like the delta 1010lt you can have 32 ins and outs analog thts a proper tape machine there. dont know your configuration, as if you have an external mixer or not. but try to have many ins, so you can do like 4 outputs from the 1000 and maybe a module in one take if you got an 8 in. thts the mixtake i made over ayear ago, with the delta 410, it only has 2 analog inputs so it was a pain to track from my mpc.

i have been also researching the rme cards with the adat light pipe out, if you save some more dosh, u could couple tht with the behringer ada 8000 converter. and go from analog to adat or vice./versa. the sample rate is 24bit @48khz, which isnt too bad also for the price cant be beaten at all. the 48 khz sample rate only really become visible (pun inteded) audible when you start getting intensive on plug ins.

as for the emu range, thier sound quality is very up there in quality, they have the same converters as pro tools hd system that retal for like $5000 upwards. they be running at 24 bit 192 khz. and the sound quality is really amazing. so tht is another viable option.

just rmember to buy more ins and outs tht you think you will ever need, so you dont run into the mistake i made with the 410. always leave room for expansion, of your studio.

you thanks to all you guys i think im gonna go with the e-mu 0404 card for 99 bills. it seems to be a really good value for the price and unless i want to get the delta 1010lt for 220 then im set with the e-mu.

anyone have this specific card who can give me some feedback on it?
