The new Sequence loop settings seem to be incompatible with previous versions. Well, it basically says so on the Bug fix page, but still...

The main parameters now are First bar and Last bar, when they used to be First bar and amount of looped bars (or something similar). Yesterday (still on MPC2500 OSXL 2.15) I wrote a 5-bar sequence with a 4- bar loop starting on bar two, looping for four bars (2-5).

Now, on 2.16, when I push Play start, the sequence first plays from bar 1 to END (bar 5), just as it should. Then it starts looping - again from bar 1 to END (bar 5), overriding the loop settings of the previous version. In fact, I do think the new function actually is more intuitive but I wrote quite a few sequences using previous versions, now it seems I have to re-adjust all loop settings.

Nevertheless, setting Sequence loop is much easier now. I used to get seriously frustrated having to scroll across the whole screen several times while adjusting loop settings.

Thanks for the reply.

I've just read in the explanation URL that there was a new type of function and shortcut (STOP + PLAYSTART). I think it would be cool if it could be compatible one day with the recording capacity of audiotracks.

I'm thinking of my DPS16 when you can set the start and end recording point and even have a reharsal option. (Well that stuff works with a HDD so I don't know if it could be done on the 1K)

i like the new sequence loop layout. much easier to understand. moving the cursor down into the F1 loop tab itself was confusing, interface-wise. there was no other situation within the os where you could move the cursor down into a tab itself, so i'm glad he got rid of that.

just sent him my 'freezeloop' request, which is another (quicker) way of accessing & manipulating these sequence loop points, so hopefully he'll be able to implement this down the road:
