PROBLEM WITH IDE (NOT-SWAPP.)FLASH MEMORY READER ON AKAI 200

hi man
I have an MPC 2000XL. I bought this IDE (NOT-SWAPP.)FLASH MEMORY READER does not work http://www.addonics.com/products/flash_memory_reader/adidesd.asp .

I replaced the old floppy drive with the new reader but when I turn the Akai, the display lights up but do not read anything. I checked the connections but everything seems perfect!

I have the flat cable is 40 pin.
The power cable (two wires, one black and one red) I've recovered from the floppy drive that I removed.
What could be the problem?

turn the ide around .. get the right ide cabel it seems to be keyed on the wrong side

me myself I think i have an incompatible card issue , but it is sd and i do get an led when i insert and takes a while for mpc to say no floppy device !! , my ide is correct , and i have the addonics aeidedmd4

anyone else that can confirm this one works??
