Im going to meet the dude in an hour.

I've had one before, but didn't keep it as it had some damage.

If I get this one, I'll take it to the grave with me...

Fingers crossed.

Gratz. I love mine. You can really get it bouncing on the triplet setting... but I'm sure you know that :P

Hey Clint, you'll probably qualify as having a museum with all the current and past drum machines you own. :)

Got her in the boot, she needs a little TLC.

I'll up a couple pics when she's decent.

Cost me £600 cash, only saw the ad this morning ...

as I'm taking a time out from music the studio gets a facelift.

The 808 is a sound investment at that price, dude had a 2000 for sale too but been there years ago.

I know some cats here got more classic gear than me.

Ok so she needs some TLC, namely...

1. Tempo knob

2. Start/ Stop button

3. Tap Button

4. 2 position toggle switch (I/F Variation)

Parts will be cheap enough, finding them may present a problem.

Otherwise fully working if a little dusty, she's been in storage for a while.

Pics tomorrow

congrats man.

I remember the first and only time I got the chance to mess with an 808. It was at the homie Elmacacos spot, and I fell in love with that machine!

Apart from the minor parts that are missing, everything works and sounds fine.

She needs a good service and a clean she's a bit scratchy on the pots, some stiff buttons.

I think she'll get midi modded at some stage, but first things first RESTORATION.

If anyone knows where I can get the start/ stop button, tap button and a tempo knob please share...
