so JVC , whats the best internal option for space and compatibilty ,

1.should i go with a cf ? -
1a. which cf reader is hot swappable?
(I need hot-swap i have A.D.D. when it comes top sounds and i could edit them and transfer right then. I'm spoiled from my old 1000)

2. What do you have ?
2a. what do you think is the coolest option ?

3. Since I installed my internal zip100 in my pc and i have a scsi zip 250 on mpc2kxl , should i worry about a cf or sd ?

I want to be able to (partially) put my drum library on this cf card ...(13gbs)

somehow i just feel more comfortable with a memory card , zip noise scares me ..

Yes. Hot-swapable or not, you should get rid of Zip drives. Zip is slow, noisy, expensive, and unreliable media.

If you must have a hot-swappable CF reader, there is one available for sale on eBay, sold for 100+ bucks.

I installed non-swappable Addonis IDE CF adapter, which I paid $20.00, including S & H. I found it on ebay.
I posted photos of installation steps on the other thread.

Hot-swappable CF reader is the coolest option, but I don't feel that it is necessary for me.
Certainly I would not shell out 80 dollars more for just being able to change CF cards.

If you have external Zip drive, you can still use zip disks, although I don't see a good reason to do so.

I heard that SD cards do not work well with XL. so, I would just stick with Sandisk CF cards.

1GB is the max capacity for CF card. I use 2GB Sandisk card, but XL recognizes as 1GB card. 13GB drum library won't fit 1GB CF card.
The content of the CF card is readable with PC/Mac system.

Zip is very unreliable media. CF reader does not make noise!

Short answer... "NO"!
Honestly i yhink the only drives I've seen that hot swappable are theSCSI drives. Church?
