just bought an s950, ive got the pads from my 60 communicating midi with the s950, however when i press a pad on my 60 i have to have it held down for the duration of the sample. i found a post on here yesterday that explained how to fix this, ive used search function and searched my history and cant find the thing now, wished i book marked it. im assuming its a simple setting on my mpc 60?

sorry for yet another s950/60 thread

So where is the sample, in the MPC or in the S-950?

its in the s950, im wanting to use the mpc 60 to trigger a sample from the s950. ive got that working, however on the MPC 60 i have to hold the pad down for it to play the whole sample duration. thanks for the quick reply mate.

Can't you put the S-950 in 'one shot' mode.. or is there something I'm missing?

Sounds like it might be in 'note on' mode...

This isn't possible in SMPL EDIT. You'll have to create a program with a keygroup that hold this sample. then in PRGM EDIT go to PAGE15 -> ONESHOT and set it ON with the "ON/+" button.

You can also leave the ONESHOT OFF but set the release parameter to a high value (PAGE10)

peace

got another problem, ive got an 808 bass drum sample on a keygroup, im triggering it from my MPC 60. the 808 sample is 2000ms long. I cant just bash out my beats on my mpc, i have to wait for the sample to end before i can play it again. ive tried everything and still cant seem to sort it out? i have the sample set to one shot etc, but still nothing seems to be working? ive just loaded the Akai Dry Kit floppy and i also have this problem too.

How about not triggering it with the MPC. Jus' use the 808 in real time recording.
Or have your loop playing from the 808 - "In the mix" in sequence with what is playing from the other equipment.

Is the sample set to mono, poly or one shot? And really, reading the manual helps (a lot)
