Alright, I know you guys have probably addressed this question a 1000x's.....b,b,but I need some info's and/or your suggestions.

I'm picking up my MPC2000xl on monday. It's a Studio Plus (super cheap deal..no more mpc1000...stoked!) but only the internal Floppy installed.

>So, do I just go buy a external Zip (50pin model right!?)? (internal/external)
>Buy a Jaz drive (cause they're so damn cheap on Ebay right now)?
>Orb? Syquest?

I know the mpc3000 is all about the CF card readers but I haven't seen the proper reader (either internal/external) come up on Ebay recently.

Whadda I do.....

Thanks in advance, Peace

play it safe and buy an external scsi zip drive. 250mb are nice if you can find it at a good price but the 100mb are cheaper.

Good choice - good to see someone actually buying a 2KXL instead of the 1k.
Just a quick note I thought i'd chuck in - are you absolutely sure the MPC is coming with the 3.5? Because thats what I thought when I ordered mine, but when I opened the box on that fine sunny afternoon - hello, a ZIP drive installed and the 8in/out board sitting in a anti-static bag! Also got a free ZIP disc to get me started.
Anyways if you arent so lucky, i'd go with the ZIP most definately. I tried and tried with SCSI but that sh*t will not work without lots of money and time and frustration.

pz and happy beat making

A simple 100MB zip or external would suffice, I wouldn't try to get too technical. Just make sure you backup your files.

100mb is cheaper and works just fine. 250 is aight but i see more people using the 100mbs. i heard you shouldnt bother with jazz drives. dont know why.
