please help me

So i got all the wires and every thing for my mpc2000xl. however im not sure were to plug every thing in i got to 1/4inch cable wires and im not sure were to put them in my m-audio mobile pre usb inter face. then after you do that how to you get it to be able to record into logic pro???

Does the back of your interface look like this? (i just found your other post with the ebay one)

Because if so I think you may have a problem.

The two 1/4" jacks will come out the back of your 2000xl from the 'Stereo Out' Right and Left and are supposed to plug into a pair of inputs on the back of the audio interface.

If you have the interface above then theres nowhere to plug them into as it has a single stereo input rather than two mono inputs (one left and one right).

Look at the picture here.. on the right hand side of the back you can see 1/4" unbalanced inputs, if its similar to this interface then that is where you'll want to plug them into.

Woah hold up guys...there's some serious misinformation being spread here.

The OP has everything he needs to hook up the MPC to the Mobile Pre.

There's very clearly two mono 1/4" ins on that device. One is on the front, the other is on the back. They are both marked, very clearly, 'Inst/Line'.
Also there is not 1/4" stereo input anywhere on that device, so that cable posted above is going to get you nowhere fast.

To the OP, plug your 1/4" cables into...the 1/4" inputs of the device. plug the other ends into the 1/4" stereo outs of your mpc.

If you've got the 1/4" cables, and they both fit into your devices....isn't it pretty obvious where they plug in? I mean, they don't fit in the XLR jacks.

Hey it's ok.
It's appreciated that you are trying to help, but it's also easy to overlook things when it's not your set up and you want to get somebody help fast.

For the record, I've never seen a piece of audio equipment with a stereo 1/4" input. These are usually reserved for headphone outs and send/return loops on the back of a mixer.

Thanks dude, I just felt like an idiot by trying to help without bothering to pay the guy proper attention to his setup.

I would have felt like I really stitched him up if he came back on here tomorrow having bought the things I suggested, asking how to plug it in now.

Just wanted to make clear to him that my advice was completely wrong!

So i just put one of each in the inst/line? i was jsut confused which on to put in and you do nothing with the output plug in on it??
