I don't care what kind of disk drive and switch replacement you've done to it, its not worth $22oo
hell, I wouldn't pay Jay Dee's estate $22oo for his MPC
you really should be ashamed of yourself for even doing that to someone, that Make Me An Offer shiit doesn't make it right because you'd probably just refuse any reasonable offer
you doubled your money for parts that anyone could've had done for half the markup, at the most
karma's a biitch, don't forget that

Just to set the record straight, I don't have a son, so either you're thinking of somone else or mis-remembering the deal. You probably also forgot that you took more than 2 weeks to get around to shipping it and when you shipped it, all you did was put it in a cardboard box with no bubblewrap, no peanuts, no packing at all.

As far as pricing goes, it is what it is. Think of it this way - by selling me your MPC 3000LE, I ended up needing to buy a service manual for it and decided to put that service manual up for free for all other MPC 3k owners and techs, so you really did the community a favor. In addition, the MPC 3000 LE that you sold me developed that "noise in the headpnones" problem which I was able to solve and post to the list for other owners.

So really, you did a huge favor to all MPC 3k owners with your sale and I'm sure they'll thank you now that they know how much you've indirectly helped them all.

Since I no longer have any MPCs, I'm off the list, but I'll leave the service docs on my site for others to reference.

I couldn't agree more.

"Im buying it for my son" is what all us old gearheads say, it's to make the seller think we don't know the truth (value/ demand/ supply/ kudos) about what we're buying when actually we do!

If I ever sell my 3000LE it'll be for a very good return on my investment, that's for sure!

Possession is EVERYTHING with these rare pieces.

You said you wanted a gift for your son/brother, and you also said that you wanted it in time for Christmas
and I told you the reason why it took so long is because I was sick with pneumonia and going thru a divorce, and my ex-wife was handling it before things went south
so if it wasn't packed properly I apologize but I told you what was going on
but seriously, I wasn't having the best day when I posted that message so I'm sorry if I came off rude or abrubt
but like I said, you got that seller on the price a bit but I do sort of understand since you're about to vacate your gig
I could see doing $1500 for it, but $2100 is waay overblown

oh ****, nicely done clint

not exactly sure where that came from (I imagine it came from here somewhere), but I didn't post that
I've owned every MPC aside from the 4k, 25k, 500 and 5k and I paid a sight more for them than the prices listed
there was a time after my divorce that I pretty much gave up music and I let someone else use my login to look in the For Sale section, could've been them that posted it
I wish I would see a LE for $650, not like I need another one but that's a great deal

ahh, well I dont know about that... all I saw was a complaint about dude flipping the 3000LE and a post by you that says you flipped several MPCs including an LE (maybe even the same one) ... so if that was you then why you complaining about somebody else continuing the flip?

$2200? Great sale!

I suppose we've all undervalued our 3000s. I've got the IB-CRT. If I sell (which would only be under financial duress), I'll put it up for $2500. I live in the UK and people are used to paying over the odds anyway.

Congratulations. I still think haters should stop and consider the extra time and effort and money spent in updating and restoring the 3000. The buyer is getting a 21st Century MPC - without any worries about operability.

You have to pay for that kind of piece of mind.

This is an interesting thread...

Who here sees someone who is price gouging on their 3000, raise your hands...

hmmmm ok...

Who here sees someone who is salty because they sold their mpc for too cheap? Hands up...

Ahh ha...very interesting indeed.

as i see it - the 3000 is the only akai product that doesn't lost its worth. The 60s go for under $600-$500 most of the time now. The 3"triple"O is always high price with the Sp1200, Moogs, Arps and Rolands. So you not only own a realy nice midi sequencer you also own a piece of instruments-history...
