The best way

What's the best way to fit a sample to a certain tempo.Let's say i got a sample at 85.5 bpm but i wanna play it at 96.2.Should i ...
1)cut the sample and try to zone it up and replay it or
2)timestretch it.

Which one is the best way to go or is there another tech i should use??

you could tune it, and the 2000xl tells you the new tempo of the tuned sample, but that isnt exact, and will change the pitch.

Or you could time stretch it, which will preserve the pitch, but timestretching takes forever, and you might have to try several different timestretch algorithms before it sounds right. If its the wrong one, it will sound choppy or end too abruptly before it loops.
