Alt outputs signal only coming through left headphone? I wa

Hello all,

Hopefully you can help me with this set up. I am trying to give my drummer a click track out of the alt outputs (1-4). This way the sequence will go out of the main stereo outputs, and the click won't come through the PA.

He has a headphone amplifier to boost the line level output, but the signal only comes through the left headphone channel. I tried all of the alt outputs individual and they all go to the left channel.

Now here's the interesting part.... If I send the signal out of any of the alt outputs (1-4) on the mpc with a standard mono instrument cable to my mixing board, the signal comes in mono (centered). But with the same set up if I plug headphones directly into the alt output (1-4) the signal only comes through the left channel.

Any thoughts? I just want to send the main outputs to the PA, and a click signal to the drummer so he can follow the sequence.

I would really appreciate any assistance.

That's the way it is supposed to be. Use a mono to stereo cable or mono to stereo adapter.
