was wonderin (as i cant currently view pdf files or videos). My 900 keeps playin what sounds like a very basic synth patch when i try to record sounds and then trigger them from my mpc. I am wonderin what the result of this is and how can i get some detailed info on recordin into my s900. The sound seems akin to self oscillation as it only appears when i start to crank my rec in or when i play my pads. I am however aware that the 900 is a digital device and therefore i believe it is (near) impossible to for this to result in self osc. As such i have concluded that it may be a test tone or something of this nature due to my lack of knowledge about the s series

is the ,snd from a mpc3000 or s3000?

Its a snd made on pc in *3000 format... Its made from a wav to keep loop points....
Does the wav file keep looping info itself???

Picked up an S950 today! :)
£71 off the bay. Guy lived in my City so I picked it up.
Got it home and found out it had one memory pack in it so it's got 1024 Kwords.

Turns out it was owned by The Black Dog!

The floppy drive formatted but it just kept saying unformatted so I couldn't save anything. Luckily, I have some Amiga 1200 floppy drives so I installed a Citizen OSDC-41C from an external Amiga floppy bay.
After about 3 hours of randomly messing with the jumpers to find the RDY line and realising I had to turn the floppy cable upside down I now have the drive working.

B00m!
This thing rocks. 8)

Ha, I've only just remembered that you can sample in stereo too!
Stereo sample crunch fat crispiness experiments here I come :)

I didn't think so. Vintage Synth is trippin then -> http://www.vintagesynth.com/akai/s900.php.

yes they do. there are many misinformations out there. Its so crazy today with all the media and internet people should be able to get correct infos (even on sites that appear to know what they talking) but their not.
Too many info = no info cause it end up in confusion.

There is just one Inputjack on the 900/950. Now it could be a stereo jack (TRS) but even then the left and right channel would be mixed together for sampling. The 900/950 engine is mono.

Hehe.. Vintage Synth obviously doesn't. It's pretty basic stuff for them to get wrong.
I just saw the info on Vintage Synth and presumed it was correct, even though I always thought it was impossible on the s950.
Lesson learned - trust the manuals, not websites.

Is there any app for osx for creating programs for s5000/6000??
I know there is aksys but I am looking for something which is offline (I'd like to make a program without being connected to the sampler...)
