easy. Wonderin if any of y'all ever make your own multisamples and if so what you make them on and what your usuall bit rate is. Also wondering about any creative ideas you guys may have. I use cubase/reason to make nnxt patches or my s900but havent got much clue about sample fidelity that will be acceptable in quality(or not so but usable with character), but without running out of ram before you get a few octaves. I usually multisample guitars both acoustic and electric but have currently only developed skills of velocity sensitive parameter changes and whatnot as i have little sound sources to multisample, so hopin to hear some informative ish, thanks

one general concept to keep in mind is that often times, the lower notes can get by with sampling at lower sample rates (note, SAMPLE rate not bit).
of course this varies wildly depending on the source material, but like an electric bass with the tone turned down pretty low you could probably sample at 22.5 or 11 or even lower at the lower octaves...you'd just want to check how it sounds as you go.

one technique i use a lot is sampling only the c and the a of each octave, that way i am never re-pitching a sample too much, but I am also saving space by not making a sample for every note.

very loud noises you could probably get away with sampling at a lower bitrate, but anything very subtle, or with a slowly-changing aspect of it (such as a slow fadeout) you would want to use a higher bitrate.

these are just general concepts, by no means rules.
