Mixing and recording setup?

The 8 auxes are essentially 8 more channels without EQ. You can use them to return the 6 effects sends, or you can just use the mixer as a 16 channel mixer. Or a 12 channel mixer with 4 effects returns. Etc...

You katz looking for the 003 & PT, you know you can use PT 9 now since it can be used virtually with any ASIO capable audio card.

PT 9 gives users the freedom to use whatever audio card they want, provided it's ASIO compliant. No more proprietary restrictions...and I likes that.

Unless there's a legitimate reason for going with a 003, I find that there's a better crop of audio solutions to choose from IMO.

Yep, but to weigh the difference in getting PT9 plus win 7 versus spending more in obtaining soon to be outdated s/w & h/w, is a no brainer.

Digi 003 comes with PTLE8 if you buy it new. Same for all the MBox 2's.

Another question: I must record my mpc sound with analogue input (line) or i can use mic/instr input ?

If i have a soundcard with 8 analogue input and 2 mic/instr i can record my 10 tracks of my mpc?

You are all analog, why don't you just stay that way, and buy yourself a hard drive recorder like roland vs 2480 or akai dps, kord 3200 etc...

That way you'll keep your sound in the hardware and it will sound way better than software ****.

youll get plenty of pre amps, effects, a mixer, a recorder, all in one package. you will be able to record vocals, instruments...

I don't see anything analog about his setup except for the analog i/o's. Also, if you are recording to a hdd recorder, its still digital.

Agreed. Real analog would be something like having one of these older tascams recorders, or fostex, or whatever.
