CF Card wire bent....whats the solution?

My mpc 2000xl has scsi so I got a cf card for it. The internal cf card slot has got one of the gold wires bent completely to the side so it cant access data. Is there an easy fix for this?

Guys? Couldn't find anything in the manual.

Yup. Unbend it and hope it doesn't break.

So just unplug everything and tweezers?/

Tweezers didn't work. Is it an expensive fix?

I would suggest going harder with the tweezers. The fix can be found at MPCStuff.com but I don't think it's cheap.

Where do you see it? Looked around and couldn't find it. Should I unscrew the internal cf? I can't really get the tweezers to work.

yeah open it up...

obviously disconnect it first..

now try and straighten the pin back to where it should be with something.. maybe a mini screw driver like one of those flat heads for fixing glasses or small electronics.

maybe you could force it back into place (essentially the opposite of how it got bend)

When I try to fox it I push the cf card in and when I do the mpc screen goes cpmpletely white except for one black line through it...what does this mean?

that sounds like there is a short somewhere...

something must still be touching.

CF card readers are very delicate and it is easy to bend those little pins.

By the way, you aren't the only person here who has had that exact same problem.

Easy fix though?

well i would have thought so.. i thought making the pins straight would fix it.
