Kept getting errors when reading from HD floppies with the tape over the hole trick in an S900. No errors so far. Trying to retro-fit a CF reader, if anyone has successfully done it, let us know.

who cares under 200 bucks was worth what that went for... no USB card in there but still...

that is a hell of a sampler for like 150

the start up screen shows all installed options.

one icon for voices, another for ram, another for effects, etc...

I know but I am about to buy this unit for 120usd just because the vox64 and eb20 from a guy who don't know anything about this device...

but I am pretty sure that I see both of the cards there....

show me a picture of the boot screen from the s5000.
I will be able to tell you what is installed

If I had a boot screen I wouldn't ask because it's same as on my s6000
The problem is that:
1) my s6000 doesn't have the eb20 and the second vox 64
2) this s5000 unit is not booting up
3) This s5000 being sold for the same price as the standalone eb20 on ebay (or even less) and has both cards installed

Never mind - I already bought it and it will arrive next week... I will pull out the cards and throw the rest to the trash....

this unit only has one vox card installed.

i do not see an effects card either, but i don't remember where it is installed.

none of the slots are full, not even the ram

I have just dismantled my s6000 to see the slots and compare it with the photo and now I am 100% that eb20 and vox64 is there... even 1 ram module is installed...

Anyone has Akai s5000/6000 service manual in pdf?
