Pad Response MPC3000

So there's many threads out there about the MPC3000 pads. From what I gather from other users, the 3000 pads are less responsive than say, a 60. Is this true?

But my main question is about the edges ad corners of the pads. On my mate's 60, all areas of the pad are sensitive and responsive, and using the corners is sometimes helpful for feel. But on my 3000, there is hardly any or even no sensitivity at the corners. I have to punch the centre of the pad.

Is this something that will get better with a new sensor sheet?

Yep! that sounds like a new sensor sheet will solve the problem you have. There isn't any change to the pad sensor sheets between the 60, 3000, 2000 etc they all use the same sheet. Now the original Akai sensor sheet I was told was more sensitive than the new replacement sheets you can buy *but that comment is just "hearsay" and I can't confirm this to be true so take that as an unconfirmed myth at this point! So that said when you change your pad sensor sheet out it should be just as responsive as your friends 60.

I have the same feeling with my original 3000 - it's like i realy have to punch that baby to go full level. With my LE its the opposite - just touching and FULL LEVEL. I'll get me some new sensors for the original too.

Thanks for the replies. Good to know it's not just a design issue with the 3000. I'll look into replacing the sensor then. Might buy some black pads to spruce things up a bit at the same time.

I got new sensors and pads for my 60 and can't hit some of the pads hard enough to get full velocity.
I cant imagine the 3k(or anything else) being less responsive.

could more people jump in with their experiences after changing the sensor sheet on the 3K? we need a conclusive answer for this question.

my 3000 is also being hit very hard on a daily basis...

Installed a new sensor pad as well as a new set of pads on my regular mpc 3000.

Made a big difference and was definitely worthwhile.
