Hey y'all,
I just picked up my first 1k for dirt cheap, obviously expecting to have some sort of issue but the owner said its fixable.

Here is a video describing the problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXTPfnozze8

- Spinning the jog wheel clockwise, it only moves up and down 2 values instead of increasing by 1.

Is it the encoder?

That is strange behavior for the jog wheel. In JJOS did you adjust the setting for the jog wheel?Encoders are hard to find. You can buy the right side pcb board from mpcstuff.Or you can update to JJOS 2XL and control via midi in.Make sure to check the setting in JJOS 3.12 to help you know your choices.Good luck TYPO

I've always worked in a 2000xl, so I really don't know how to use JJOS, you mind helping me out by telling me where this setting is located in the OS?

Also the original owner didn't tell me about the problem so he is helping me out by purchasing that board with a new encoder. If that doesn't fix it I don't know what will.

Once again JJ (the jenius he really is) has calmed the fear of the broken MPC 1000 by giving it almost complete control via midi in.

True but what sort of midi device can I map as a jog wheel? The closest thing I can think of is my DJ Controller but that has no midi i/o
