I have a live show coming up, and I have songs already created with the program Sony Acid version 6. I want to load some entire mp3s of instrumentals I created that are about 6 MB size so that they will play just by assigning the mp3 to one pad and playing the entire song out of the mpc 1000 by pressing the assigned pad once. Is this possible? I have read the user manual and have not figured out a way of successfully doing this.

Honestly, I would rather play the higher quality wav files than mp3's, but I am not sure if the memory of an mpc 1000 is sufficient in doing this cuz they are about 48 MB in size.

You won't be able to fit many big long wav files in 128 mb.

Why don't you chop the tracks up into short loops and layer them in the mpc like that.
That'll get rid of redundancy and save tons of memory.
e.g. you could have some reverb/fx loops on one track, your intro, verse, chorus, bridge, etc drum loops on another track, etc.
