How would your ultimate home studio look like?

I am thinkin about what would be my perfect home studio, but i really can't figure it out ! so i was wondering , how would the ultimate home studio of you guys look like? and how would you make it work? etc

Edit: i mean in a bedroom sized way!

I'm building it now. Mpc 2500, Fantom x8, and a sp1200 and run that all into a reel to reel or the a Presonus Studio live (depending on the project) and dump it all into pro tools 9. throw in a blue berry mic with reflector and room treatment and thats a nice lil setup for me. But when i move to cali I'm gonna build a whole sound proof booth for vocals, horns, and live drums.

oh and of course a walk in closet full of vinyl with the turntable, but that should go without saying on this forum.

For starters I'd upgrade my Allen & Heath GS3 desk to something like a 32 channel Trident 80B or any really good 8 bus 32 channel desk (API, Neve, SSL? I'd have to do loads of research).
Then possibly loads of vintage Neve, Urei, API, etc outboard.
A Buchla 200e.
Oh, and I'd get an SP1200.
A 2" tape multitracker would be nice, but probs take up too much space.
That's about it I reckon.
Anything else would be too big for my room.

those are 3 nice setups , i would definitely have a sp1200 in it to and also i would have a akai dps24 recorder... a friend of mine has one and that thing is sickkk!!

My set up is as minimal as I need it to be.

I'll build up on my current one (*) adding just a Roland VS890HD and a cheap SE ELECTRONIC condenser mic + reflection filter.

The financing company would probably sh!t bricks if I came to them with what I'd really want for the ultimate home recording studio.

It would rival any of the big name places & have a nice apartment to go with it.

So that would mean the total square footage of this place would need to be at least 6 - 8k sq ft.

Gotta think big.

I like the idea of a spacious basement or loft...have wall dedicated to mpc with every mpc model on it...definately must have a club/lounge vibe to it. some comfy couches for the visitors, flat screen on the wall and ps3...as far as equpiment, mac pro, pro tools, db8 or command 24, mpc moog, drum set, few guitars, electric and bass, having some vintage pieces and or art work definately add a nice touch. in general have a good mixture of hardware and software and a dedicated corner for a stripper poll

My bedroom, don't really dig "pro" studios...find it too cold and all the gear a distraction..I like my dump with all the mess on the floor, the cables, the chaos and cheap ass sh*t, I know if I can't produce anything worthy on what I have I must suck a lot of balls so no point in dreaming gear untill I get better.

My ultimate studio would though be a bit different...I would love to have the studio in my bedroom instead of a different room dedicated to tune making...I would also NOT have a sucky Mackie desk but something that is modular like a old Soundcraft..I'm fedup of fixing it.
Monitors would be Acoustic Energy AE-22 Actives and Yamaha NS-10M's powered by a big Bryston
I'd also like a S-1000, S1100 on top of the ones I have and also a MPC-3000 and MPC-60 when I require them...have quite a love for the 60 of late after borrowing my friends for a month...going back to the 2000XL felt a bit odd

And if we are still dreaming make it in a old cottage deep in the middle of no where in the English country side or in the woods away from every one...mind I'm already there lol...just not the old house hahah

I had a tatty studio some years ago, but I preferred having all my kit in my bedroom as soon as I woke up.

I'm also sick of opening up my A&H GS3 to try and fix certain parts of it (at least the channel pcb's are modular internally though). I still get intermittent cut-outs of audio on the 5 and 8 group channels and a couple of the 24 channels. I have to hit the desk to get them up again. Such a pain. I'm gonna try replacing some caps next. But yeah an amazing-sounding analogue desk would be first on my list to buy.

But for me I'd just want the kit I mentioned above to go with my existing gear; TR808, TR606, TR727, SH09, RS09, MS20, X0XB0X, DX9, FZ-1, S950 (recently acquired ), MPC2500, A1200, urei/jbl 7110 x2, dbx 118, dbx 119, dbx 120A, dbx386, PCM70 and loads of bits and electronic bobs.

My ultimate dream studio would be built like a 20ft watchtower looking like Voltron and the head would be an elevator going from the ground to the shoulders where my lab would be. Inside would be aquariums with pirannas dividing the rooms like walls. And the equipment I have now will be in there bwahahahaha!
