Massive white noise when sampling via analog inputs (TRS)

Hi eveyone, this is my first post and would really appreciate if someone that had the same problem could help me.
I just got a white mpc4000 and when i sample in either stereo or in mono through the left input the sample plays back with a massive digital noise (white noise basically) that randomly goes on and off throughout the sample but it's there everytime the sample is played. This even happens when using the "play" soft key (F3) right after sampling, not only when triggering from the pads. The noise occurs both on the main outputs (this MPC doesn't have additional outs) and through the headphones. I have tried different audio cables and the problem persists, OS is 1.71
Let me add that the noise does NOT happen if I am only monitoring the input through the MPC, either Mono L or Stereo, only when playing back the sampled sound.

Maybe your gain is too high?

There's what's called a "PC IO ADDA BLOCK" or the main audio I/O board inside the 4k. This might be defective and is what's causing your delima.

It could also be something as simple as replacing the ram.

If you're technically suave', it shouldn't be that difficult to diagnose and figure out what's wrong.

Always some **** thing with this sampler. Juts tried sampling my self and get the same thing oh and the usual same answer to check/change the ram. What is about some of you folks and ram? Its pretty hardy stuff, if it plays back the samples fine it should be able to store the recorded sample. No, this is another dodgy component which I bet came from Europe. hardly worth getting it fixed.

Such a shame as its a fantastic machine but people are to busy pissing about with parts for MPC 2000 (xl) and 60s. I hate to say it but the Ren is looking more and more appealing
