trimming/chopping issue

why is it when i chop something in the middle of a sample and i do CUT it only erases the sound after the highlighted part and not before it.. its not that a big of an issue but i would like to conserve my memory. anyone know if its something im not doing or could it be my MPC? i have a classic btw

Thats a thing I'm also interested in cause I got the same issue with my 2000classic but not always, just sometimes. My first guess is a communication issue between the processor and the RAM or something went wrong with adressing RAM or so but I never had any other problems with the RAM so it really is only a guess.

take the ram out and reseat it....Might help. Peteys answer was most likely correct.

nah it just does that ... I notice when it does work as usual it's the first time the sample is cut... then from there we have an issue. At first I thought maybe it was cut and then it simply didn't update the waveform however apon reloading from the floppy the next day I saw it still was the same.

So.. basically, I just go to zone edit, grab the piece I want (the normal cut) and make a new sound... then I delete the original.


I didn't ever see that happen with the 2000xl, only the 2000 classic.
