MPC 60(3.10) vs the sp 1200

I wanted to get feedback on both these machines, pro's and cons etc. For example, the sp1200 has 10 seconds of sampling time, the 60 has 26. Both are 12 bit.

My question to you is that if you came home and your place was on fire, and you had to grab either your mpc 60 or sp 1200(assuming you had both) what would you grab?

60.

Much better user interface, incredible sequencer, tight timing.

Sp1200,

better sound (grimey) good use of sliders for editing, loose timing, weird work arounds for copying etc.

Yo Andreas, you smoking that sherm again? Why do you keep wanting to switch your gear aroung, you have everything right under your nose and you have no idea how enviable your set up is.

You got the sp 12, midi the sucker up and you have the best of both worlds.

Ive heard andreas say numerous times that his sp12 is busted. Doesnt work, fried, etc.

well, its not that at all. For ome reason, When I hook up thje rca cables to the w30 and the 12, I only get volume on the one side.weird sh*t. Its probably something stupid

I love the 60, I will never part with it, I love the sp 303 -60 thing. Its worked out well cause the 303 has a sh*tty sequencer.

i miss my mpc 60 already, but i never used it after i got my 3k..
the mpc 60 sounded soo nice, but it wasnt enough sample time for me, im not patient enough to cut corners and do all the little tricks to stretch out the sample time as far as i can go either.. the 3k is my baby, but i hope sometime soon i find a cheap s950/s900 to resample my drums though.

I'd grab the SP1200 cause I could turn around and sell it and get a MPC 60 and money towards my ASR-10.

DAM, ON EBAY right now they got a 60 with the 3.10 for $680, no scsi.

F*ck thats the best deal I've seen yet.

Yeah I seen most of the MPC 60s on ebay listed once before. People are buying them and reselling them. The one I recognize from a earlier pawn shop auction. Does not seem to be much profit in reselling these as is.

Thats like asking which hand do you want to keep? I'm right handed and use that one the most and although the left doesn't get that much work...It's still apart of the team.....LOL

do u have them goin to a mixer? like w30 in the mixer and the 12 in the mixer with the mpc and 303? I mean audio not midi. if not get a studio mixer for the lab. I think u have enough beatmaking gear, maybe u need to focus on getting some recording equip. Like maybe a akai dps12 or a roland 1680 or the 880. A ill multitrack with a mixer and a pair of monitors will really improve the quality of the sound.

I'd grab the sp1200. It seems a little harder to come by. It took me a while to get one. Especially one in good condition.

I'd probably put out the fire, or get my pets. Lugging anything from here would be such a hassle, and it wouldn't be the end of the world, I'd just need get new gear.
