Where all the Technicians at? Ya'll should provide some tips for us who aint got the knowledge to replace parts. mainly i'm interested in replacing the lcd screen and fixing parts like the jog wheel and the note variation slider.
A list of where to get parts (besides akai) and some step by step would help out alot.

5 common fuc ups
1.LCD Screen
2.NV SLIDER
3.JOG WHEEL
4.SCSI FUSE
5.POWER SUPPLY FAILURE

and put techs out of business!

I need help with that too....i just ordered parts from akai .... i need to knwo whatsup with the screen and soldering the slider...thanks

Did you say you bought parts form Akai? I need to buy a LCD screen for my mpc 2k! Two lines of my LCD are out already and I need to replace it before I can't see sh-t!!! Help is a must!

Why? It is usually 10 times as hard to find the parts from another source even if they were available. To get the parts from akai is pretty easy and you don't need to spend days cross-referencing part numbers.
