You must have a heavy fader hand. I've had mine for years and my fader is still 100% functional. I'm hip to that pete rock/ premier/ damu light handed technique though.

You're right I do have a heavy fader hand...been working on it.
I have noticed how pete rock, premo and even grandmaster flash and jazzy jeff use a light handed technique on both the fader and record...I will try and break outta my bad habit! Love the mixer though!

Don't sleep on the Pete rock 4th finger technique(Finger to the right of the middle one)! I've found this quite effective for wrist oriented scratches.

Vestax 05,06,07 (super cheap and great mixers for the price) Durable, trusted, and highly recommended for what you mentioned.
rane 56 (ull never need another mixer again)
tascam xs8
pioneer 909 (ull never leave your bedroom again) (and you also wont have any more money) lol

WORD .
Been through my fair share of Vestax's and although they are great mixers they're not fckin' w/ the weight of a Rane .
Ecler's are just crap . Seen / had too many fail on me .
Edit : oop's

Yeah, I got myself a Rane 56S last year. Really nice mixer, although it's being criminally underused at the minute.
