Hey, i just got a mpc 500 and i have no idea what im doing. I have read the manual but i still cant figure out how to get sounds out of my mpc. I have loaded samples onto the memory card via usb, and they are all loaded in the unit. Im following the directions to select the sequence and track, and assigning the sample to pad, but im way confused. So can anyone walk me through the basics? I turn on the mpc, then what do i do to assign the samples to pads, then record a loop with all the sounds? Thank you very much.

Getting your head around the workflow can be challenging your first few weeks. Use the manual as reference on the following steps.

1. Turn it on
2. Go to Load
3. Select a file
4. Assign file to a pad
5. Repeat steps 3&4
6. Go to Sequence
7. Start bangin on the pads (if you don't hear anything, press the Full Level button)

This will get you started. You will need to read the manual several times. Or purchase the beatmaking on the MPC500 manual from this site. It's really helpful.
