hey fellow mpc users,

i am curious to know what you guys think of the bitcrusher (the one in the trim -> edit menu). imho it´s the shit. i use it on all my drums and i really like it. sounds a lot like my old s950.

if it boosts the highs too much, apply a lpf filter and set the cutoff to e.g. 90 for instant funk!

I used to own an s-950 but I sold it a few years ago. The Bit Crusher on the JJ OS sounds good. I've used it several times since it became available. It doesn't sound much like an s-950, but it comes close enough for me not to need any other samplers. 8)

Not sure if I'd go as far as calling it the bomb but I do use it every now and then and for the most part it sounds pretty good. I wish we had a non-destructive way to use the bit crusher in program mode so we could mess with it as a sequence is running and so we don't have to commit to the sound.

I also wish we had sweepable frequencies in lows, mids and highs to boost or cut; is this possible? We already have LP and HP filters so why not a sweepable eq? Hmmm...feature request :)

you could just use ur Qlink sliders, set to cut off and go..
thats what I do, works a treat, especially with resonance on another Qlink 8)

I forgot it was there to be honest cause I tend to only apply effects in the computer. It's a worthwhile function either way, but it would be much better in the effects section.

i save fx for DAW but i like that it's there
it's the only bit crusher i know that is offline, which is cool cuz it means your bitcrushing gets tuned/filtered w/ your sample after you apply it. it becomes "bit crust"

I often use it, but what i love the most about it is not the bit crusher part, but that the sample rate can be changed. Makes things sound KriZpy!

I'm planning on a whole beat crushed to 8 bit. Other than that I haven't used it much really...
Maybe I should..

I hear a lot of tracks that have automated bit crusher effects.

Sample rate on qlink 1 and bit depth on qlink 2 anyone?? 8)
