is there a way to remove unused progs/samples from a multi?

it would be handy, but I can't find a way this morning...

Global---->memory scroll to operation and select purge unused programs.

When you did that,,, you can select purge unused samples, so all samples from that programs are deleted

nah, deleting programs from a multi, not from memory. the problem is if you have 40 progs in a multi but just want 8 its a PITA deleting the unused ones, the global purge won't help with that

well just delete your program, dude
and assign it to another one. you do this with the jogwheel

Go to program tag the programs you want to delete and hit delete afterwards if necessary purge unused samples.

You can also use aksys. Right click on the program or sample in memory then select delete. Becareful where you delete from, if you just want more memory space delete from memory. If you no longer want the program or samples on the Hard Drive delete from hard drive.

okay thanks guys, I was trying to avoid deleting 30 odd programs from the multi by hand and risking deleting one i needed. I guess its time to get a bit of paper out and list everything I'm using

funny how often a bit of paper is necessary with this hi tech gear...

Hi Richard,
If you want this feature to be implemented into the MPC 4000, I would suggest sending
it to [email protected]. There is no guarantee that they will implement this,
but it's more likely that they won't if you don't report it. You could send it as
an RFE (Request for Enhancement) on the "Purge" abilities. Sounds
to me like you would like it to.

Purge All Programs that are not called from within a Sequence? Is that correct?

I would send it on to them, and it might be something that they incorporate, doesn't seem
that it would take too much for them to implement it.
