Intel Mac Pro

Im upgrading to a Mac Pro from a G5...Im wondering what should I expect from this machine, The Mac Pro Im picking up has 8GB of RAM, and 1TB of HDD space, Im guessing that with 8GB of RaM, my possibilities are endless...I can run all my machines simultaneously and record vocals on the G5 no problem, does anyone have a Intel Mac Pro? Whats your experience with the intel?

Cmon Clint, Im just trying to start a thread about Intel Mac Pro owners, I never owned a Mac Pro before and I was hoping someone who has one could chime in and give a review about the machine...I just want to know what its like to use a Mac Pro, but I guess Ill find out tommorow.

How is it that everyone on here has a MPC but nobody has a Apple Computer with an Intel Processor? I guess let me make the 1st jump into the world of Intel...We all have to do it sometime I guess, but are people using PC's with their MPC's because in my experience, PC is not cut out for music.

I have an 08 Mac Pro and i still haven't maxed it out while tracking or mixing or doing anything else. Shit has power to spare.

I am purchasing a mac pro in may.

Wow, so you guys are definitely in there with the Intel Powered machines...do you guys have any of the Intel Plugins?

Damn so its just crazy fast huh, man, I had to hop on here and ask because I know people out there have these machines, 8GB of RAM is probably double or triple of what I need, well actually, Im about to get into Video Editing so I know I can max that out, is your Mac Pro a Dual or a Quad? I couldnt find a Dual for no less than 950...the Quads are like $1500...

I feel you, thats how I felt about the Mac Pro, I was like fugg it, I need intel plugins, but I really needed it for photoshop CS5, my PC isnt cutting it anymore.

I'm using an intel imac, bought it new last year with only 4gb of ram but stlll i've never had any problems running anything. Cs5 is smooth, it can handle it fine.

Couldn't go back to a PC now, they feel slow and the layout seems prehistoric.

I'm thinking of selling my 21.5" imac to buy a macbook pro, i got the large screen for graphic design but not doing much work with that now, all my musics on the mpc so the only use it gets is recording into Logic, reading emails, and watching films.

Mine is a dual quad core, only 4GB of RAM, but it gets the job done easily without breaking a sweat.

You need an Intel based Mac to run Pro Tools 9 or Logic Pro 9 and other newer software.

G5 PPC's are good up to version 8 of both programs.

My home lab has a lil Mac mini intel Core Duo 2 with only a gig of ram. Works like a charm. 8GB is gonna be fast lol.
