Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By patterntunes Tue Apr 19, 2011 7:00 am
1.Can mpc 2000 slice and assign sample to 16 pads, and how?
2.Does mpc 2000 have auto-slicing like in 2000xl, if yes, how it looks like?
Thank you!

yes and there is a book that is available in hardcopy and also downloadable from the internet called THE MANUAL maybe you should have a look in there as this is pretty much the most basic thing to be done on the MPC. Otherwise if you send me your MPC i will look after it until you have decided to take the time to learn.

i'm not so silly)
i'm not so good in english and to read user manual in 200 pages rather hard.
there is no user manual for 2000, only 2000xl. but there is difference...
in 2000 xl in zone mode sample could be chopped in zones. and there is no such function in mpc 2000?
in mpc 2000 in zone mode i can only select 1 zone from sample and cut it to new sample??....(((

You don't need to read 200 pages to answer your questions.. The manual is devided into sections and has a table of contents on the first pages.

No there's no slice on the 2000. ZnEdit is one zone at a time, meaning after you edit to a new snd you have to type the End field number into the Start field which is quickest using the number buttons rather than the jog wheel, that's how I do exact chops.

this guy dante lewis posted this helpful video registered as freshness757 on youtube. *I take no credit for this link or video*. He shows you a way to chop up the sample switching velocities and turning the 16 levels function on. It's on the 2000 classic. Hope this points you in the right direction, it helped me when I had the same question.
