I've never used Maschine, just trying to see how it's different. From what I gather, it fits the above mpc scenario pretty closely.
Personally, and this is just 1 of the points that sold ME on the Maschine. It cost's less to get your instrumental tracked out into your DAW.
With a MPC and Pro-tools (just for example) you will need a Midi interface. It can be done with a regular audio interface and jack's but it's alot easier with a midi interface but the software and hardware can be high.
With 669.99 USD you have all you need to track out into your favorite DAW.
Again, this is just MY perception/opinion.
