SYNCING MPC 2500, Fantom G6, and Pro-Tools

I have the MPC 2500 and the Fantom G6.
I have my Fantom G6 slaved to Protools LE 8.5

I want to Sync the three Devices together and Im looking for suggestions on the best way to do this.
I was going to try slaving the MPC 2500 to the G6 but it seems most people slave the Fantom to the MPC.

I have it Protools M-Box (3rd gen) MIDI in to MIDI out on the Fantom G6 and I was going to run the MPC MIDI in to the MIDI out on the Fantom.

Please give me SUGGESTIONS!

Why do you think you need to 'sync' these three pieces?

What role does each play in the production process?

Which is to be your master sequencer, the one that sets the tempo?

An MPC with a DAW and a synth is a common setup and quite simple to configure once your needs are known.

I want to be able to hit play/record on pro-tools and both peices will play.

I'm creating my drum patterns on the MPC and playing my keys on the Fantom G.

I solved the problem though.

I just went through this similar setup...

I use the MPC as my master sequencer(for all my midi recording) & slave the keyboard & PT to the MPC.

I assign my MPC tracks to my keyboards corresponding midi channel and record, tada! SYNC'd.


I don't see where pro tools would be needed in this situation unless you are using instruments from both the Phantom and PT... The only reason I see the need for PT is to track out your beats once your finished... In that case I slave the MPC to PT and setup my MPC outputs and press record in PT to record my final takes.
