Mmm-hm, each audio track could work as a separate Looping recorder with a complete set of looping controls, independent loop length settings and so on... now, THAT would be mad.

Still, the past two days I've played with the looper I've come up with more ideas than during the whole month. It's a great workflow improvement for me, plus an instant idea facilitator. I'm really looking forward to using it live, in a few weeks time...

Yeah you're right it's great for creativity.

I was using it right now, trying to sample instrumentals on the fly. I was thinking when using the RecBars function (which is dependent on tempo) it would be cool to have a more accurate TAP TEMPO. Instead of an average of 4 it could help if there was the ability to calculate on a average or 8 or 16 or more.

Looper's not a bad feature but needs some work. This update is the only time I ever had my mpc crash. Was switching between loop mode and the main screen and CPU error. Also the only way I can get something external to record I have to use L+R. Mono L or R separately doesn't work. Would also be nice to let a beat roll and then just start recording when you feel like it and have it quantise to the nearest beat rather than have to always start on the 1st. It already listens fo a certain audio threshold. Unless I'm missing something.

yeah, i had a crash too when i was in looper mode. there was no cpu error, the mpc just froze and i had to restart.

there is definitely some potential here, tho. i hope JJ keeps working on this and is able to fix the problems.

The looper is cool, but crashed my 1k almost every time I used it, especially if I was running a sequence behind it.

I really hope JJ gets this working. It's really amazing BUT...

I hate that it stops the sequence to save the sample!! (or was that a bug?)

I would give it up along with 90% of the JJ OS features if he would just let you save a sample without stopping the sequence. Bonus points for letting you save audio tracks without the sequence stopping. With either of those I wouldn't need a looper mode.

Like I said before in the preview thread, he should just integrate this with the audio tracks, but I think he separated it because it takes a lot from the MPC and it would jeopordize the stability of audio tracks.
