i chop the kick, snare, and hihat just fine...
.
i assign the kick snare, hat... to appropriate pads wonderfully
.

i set sequence one to 90bpm... 4/4 time... timing:off.... bars are set to 2...
.
i have the loop set to ON
.
i press record and playstart... wait for the one bar metronome preparation..... i play out my drums... but i can never get the near end of the last bar end right.. so that when it comes to overdubbing... there's like a stutter or silence... and sometimes an overlapping.... DO I JUST NOT HAVE RYHTHM.... i need serious help.... if i can't even get past making my own drum loop then it looks like i might have to go back to fruitloops, where i can SEE WHERE THE BAR IS ABOUT TO END...
.
.
.
.
help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

owning a mpc does not turn you automatically into an musician/Drummer
just rehearse till you get it. Or read some theory stuff about rhythm, I mean rhythm not that hiphop- bla how to sample and chop.
Load a standard midifile with a standard rock rhythm into your mpc and analyse: at which beat will be the snare, the hat and the kik..... you could spent a lifetime only on rhythm theory.... :)

You may have better luck with the quantise on. If It sounds too mechanical, use the swing function to switch up the timing a lil bit. You can still see when the end of the bar is comming up, just look at the timing in the upper right corner of the main screen. And remember, you can alwayz go back and correct small mistakes in Step Edit.

phuk all that,

Just play it how you want it, if there is silence before the seq starts again, then erase and speed up your tempo, if it overlaps, slow the tempo down.

Best to mess with the quantizing feature on (timing) say 16th notes. then see where it gets you.

Don't sweat, you'll get the hang of it soon enough. In fruity, you were drawing in notes right? Try to think of the MPC the same way.
You say you don't know when the bar ends? Of course you do: Listen carefully to the metronome. The loudest of the clicks is the start of a new bar. The softer clicks are beats. The clicks are the same as the lines in your computer program!
CLICK! click click click (new bar) CLICK! click click click (new bar)

You see....the bar ends after 4 clicks. 4/4: 4 beats to a bar.

And don't worry too much if it sounds crap at first. It takes some time.

try by droppin the snare on beat 2 and 4 of each bar then fill it by adding your kick pattern before each snare hit, if your timing is off you gotta make sure your droppin ish on point if not try 1/16 for kicks and 1/8 for snare. 1
