jimbeats: although they will make a profit, i'm sure it's not nearly enough once they simply cover the costs of making the shirts.. we're talking a few hundred bucks profit maybe? after all the work and "the love" of what they're doing. that's not a diss on kdp, it's just a fact - these shirts aren't being nationally distributed through a big company.. this is mom and pop stuff. the same reason no one can start a big business in america is the taxes and "it's just the law" hoops. if the shirts made it to the cover of a magazine then they can worry about "rights". i think i speak for all of us when i say the sampling laws in this country are BULL. it's just to cover the broad as$'s of people. no vanilla ice/queen music. the main problem is it unknowingly tries to silence the sample "artists" out there. it's cool to ask questions but it was a buzz kill one to ask to the wrong group of people. these dudes are mom and poppin. not mcdonalds. they are part of your people, not a big corporate brand on the damn thing. walk in to a mixtape shop and say "hey guys, did you get clearance for these?" or people pushing drugs "hey guys, this is illegal" better yet how about walk up to the white house and the pentagon and ask these questions. i'm sayin..
