mpc60 vs 3000

MPC3000 has 2 MIDI In and 2 MIDI out


ALX... We should do an album together... I don't want to hear your music, Don't even wanna meet you.. just emailing back and forth sounds from all our damn samplers and workstations.

3000 is a BEAST...Im looking to purchase a 60 this year or go back and get a more updated 3000.

I have like 3 3000. Had a 60 2 - but had to let it go cause i need the filters and the stereo sampling time. The s950 still keeps that 60 flavor if i need it. Also had a 2500 and a 500 before - but theyR to complex and have way to many options to me. I love it as simple as it gets - and thats (2me) the 60II&3000 - but i always choose the 3000 before the 60 cause i need my filters. Many people love to have many features and options and memory and all that, but i don't.

No wave form editing for me Sir. That window button - naaaaah! ShiftBUTTON"menus" -??!!?

The 60 and the 3000 are different machines but their operation and workflow's are identical.

1. 3000 16 bit .. 60 12 bit
2. the casing is different (obviously)
3 more ram in the 3000 upgradable
4. dr dre uses it lol.. lol.. -3000-

Couple things the 60 has that the 3000 doesn't. It has an effects in/out, so you can use an external reverb unit, and run the levels of that inside the 60. The other difference is it has a MONITOR in, that you can leave on no matter what mode you are in. Not sure why Akai took this off the 3000

if simple filters are the deciding factor... and the only importance.... why wouldn't you go and buy an even better quality filter unit than what any mpc has and filter your sounds regardless of what mpc you use? Maybe something like a moog filter or what have you.

cause I just found it odd hearing someone say they chose the 3000 because of it's filters... lol

It not comparable.
The 3k allows a filter per sound and is critical to making samples sound good inside the 3k.
The efx send on the 60 is just a single path.

Once you get use to using the 3k you find yourself using the filter on every sample for various reasons to give your sounds that glue.

when I first heard about the 3oooLE coming out I hoped they'd put those back on but it didn't happen
that monitor in function was pretty useful for cueing up samps and whatnot before recording them
