back in the day you could go on TI's web site, fill out a form -- I AM COMPANY GOING TO SELL 1000+ UNITS -- and they'd send you all sorts of free samples on their own dime. they've largely wised up, now...
that was a box of surface-mount opamps and shit. they meant "ANALOG SAMPLE KIT" in the sense of, sample analog chips for engineers. totally useless as i can't use SMD parts, but it's a good ol' laugh to keep on my shelf !

this frame is custom made from ash-wood. the design is by myself (with some inspiration from the mpc3000 and some custom work forat did) and it was home made at my uncles little woodshop. he did all the woodwork and it came out really great. here is a better picture:
