Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hi guys,

Ok, just got an mpc500, love it, one question though. My friend has a 2000, andhe can load a sample of say, a c note on the bass. Then he can assign that note to all pads in a scale (so a1=c, a2=c#, a3=d, etc)

Can this be done on the 500?

Cheers.

What does the manual say?

The function is called '16 levels'.

Don't mind Clint. His main job around here seems to be to make sure that any question asked which can already be found on the internet is shut down immediately and with a healthy dose of scorn. It's not my style but apparently the owners of the board want to keep these boards free of any possible redundant chat. It is a ghost town around here so he must be doing something right.

Given that, you should at least check the product pages on the Akai site (your question was answered in the Key Features list), and download the manual too. It's pretty decent actually. If you really want to learn to use your MPC, get Beatmaking on the MPC 500 from this site. It's really well written and provides a ton of valuable information. Well worth the investment and your friends will be coming to you with questions down the road if you read it.
