im not sure i herd that if you create a program for your bass lines and a program for your main sequence and just play the bass line over top it sounds really good but im not sure if this is true or if it works or not. people got me all confused and shit haha.

The M Audio AV40's have a frequency response of 85 Hz – 20 kHz, so yeah, hearing bass properly on those speakers may be difficult.
Maybe invest in a pair of decent headphones with a freq response that goes as low as 20hz.
