anybody dig 45's?

I have a ton of 45's that I inherited but alot of them are real scratchy. Some cool stuff,tho. Old reggae, soul, r&B, jazz etc. Just wondering if anyone else uses 45's in their arsenal.

oh hell yea as long as it's vinyl and it has stuff to sample or play sh!t yeah i got about 100-150 four five'saint bought some in a while havent found any thing i like on those yet.

Yeah, 45's are like some 12" singles of today, often joints that weren't on an album, a lot are pretty rare and have some nice stuff if you look(listen).

Hell yeah. And recorded louder as well. If I can get a drum break on and LP and 45, i take the 45.

I sample of 45's I get them for like between 10 - 50 cents from this record shop around my way they're in good shape too....

45's always sound dirty and poppin', great for taking drums, tha's why I keep them on tap...

And its easier to sit throught the whole 45 cuz you say, well i only got like 2 more minutes til i can check the next side or next record. When you got albums, you gotta look and say, Damn, i got like 13 more tracks to listen through.

Unsure about this ? I would've guessed it has to do with the sound being spread over a larger sufrace area, giving a better quality of sound.

i believe they are actually pressed on thicker grooves in the 45. i dont think it has anything to do with the recording or mastering. take the same song and press it on an LP and a 45 and it will be louder on a 45.

i'm sittin on about 1000 of 'em. classic shit too. i think this old lady had a jukebox back in the day and that's where the bulk of them came from. mad James Brown, Isaac Hayes, Stevie, Marvin, Ray, Aretha, some Barry White, i love it!!
