I have run into this problem when creating INST programs
using JJ OS-XL 2.18 on an MPC2500

1. load samples into an INST program with NO-OVERLAP
2. Samples load as "PLAY: NOTE ON"
3. Switch to AMP window of Program and change "PLAY: NOTE ON"
to "PLAY: ONE SHOT"
4. First sample in Program switches to "ONE SHOT" all
other samples still play as "NOTE ON"

The way I understand it, In INST mode there is only one AMP
page for the whole program. I have tried highlighting the different
samples in the progam and then switching to AMP and changing
"NOTE ON" to "ONE SHOT" and still only the first
sample changes.

1K os2xl 2.18

In NDC pressing the full level button cancels the current zoom state.

My mpc 2500 sometimes freezes when going into LoopEdit -> VIEW from GridEdit.

It's happened about 6 times this week over a period of about 20 hours usage.

I can't replicate it because it seems to be random when it happens.
It's such a pain that I've taken to saving most times before I go into pattern view, which is a lot. :( (As we all know, spending 30 mins perfecting an 8 bar drum break, only to have the mpc freeze isn't nice).

I've had it freeze this way with JJOSXL v2.17, v2.18, v2.19 and v2.20. I'm about to install v2.21.

For the past couple of weeks I've mostly been using pattern view to edit midi data being sent out of midi port B, with the track type set to DRUM. I.e. the mpc has had no samples loaded into it.

anyone having an issue where a drum program suddenly stops producing any output? it then has to be reloaded to start working again? its only been a couple of times and i can't remember the exact steps :(

basically though: xl1.21, play around with level/pan qlinks on a track with a few notes then silence. the samples still sound in trim screen, and another track using a different program seems ok. am i doing something stupid??

I installed jjos 3.12 free version on my mpc1000 pretty recently.
Here are the bugs I've found:

Sometimes, apparently at random, a sample will play with random panning. Kind of annoying, like when a random centered sample will play at the far left or right.

I'm guessing this has been mentioned before, but in the global program edit, using "whole" and pressing one of the F keys to change the range, hitting a pad consistently crashes the mpc, and it must be shut off. It would be useful if not only were this bug fixed, but hitting a pad changed the range to that pad number, sort of like in the "mute target" setting.

Sounds like the good old "playback panning bug".

The free OS is too limited and buggy (lots of topics and problems on that board). JJ should do something.

I'm experiencing a related issue with OS2XL 2.21 on an MPC1000. I can make and save an INST program and amp envelopes will behave normally, but when that program is packed, all samples except for the first one play as one shots. Unpacking causes them to revert to normal behavior.

Have you tried holding down the ERASE button on start up?

I have always done that without fail every time I update (since 2007).

Dont get me wrong.. I love JJosxl on my 2500. but its just bug after bug after bug, updates every week or 2.. I commend his effort... its just an unbelievable creativity killer having it happen alot.

Even simple stuff like having issues loading a song from just an update or 2 ago. And they dont load right. etc.

Its feels like a gift and a curse to me honestly.

Just sayin...

I have just spent an hour tweaking a beat with LoopEdit and my mpc has just frozen when going into View with LoopEdit

Again, I had no samples loaded into my mpc2500, I have just been tweaking midi data in grid edit.
Before it froze I noticed my mpc's UI response was getting slower over time.

So, what was slowing down my mpc? Is there some kind of memory leak? I dunno, but all I did was fire up my mpc, lay down 7 different midi events onto one track, then start shifting them about. I entered the midi notes with the mpc's pad's so there was no midi data coming into the mpc to clog it up.

This is a bug which happens all the time but I cannot write down steps to JJ as to how to reproduce it because I can go for hours without it happening. It always happens when entering View through LoopEdit.

This is now using JJOSXL v2.25.
