automation recording

are you restricted to only being able to record two live parameters via the q-link sliders (on the 1000) per pattern? or can you, for example, assign the filter cutoff to one slider and the filter res to the other slider, record live automation for both, THEN, reassign the sliders to different parameters and record two more?

Another way to put it, is the recorded automation tied to the slider? so once you link the slider to a different parameter you lose the previously recorded automation assigned to that slider?

a quick follow up-- is this function only possible with jjos, or does the stock akai OS have this function too? can the akai OS on the mpc500 do this as well?

I know that it's the same on the 500, but i don't remember how it worked on the original wAkai software for the 1000. Sorry.
