Hi,

I am giving serious consideration to buying an MPC2000xl as the loop function on my QY700 sequencer is unsatisfactory.

However my main sampler is a Emu E5000ultra (I plan to use the MPC for drum samples and sequencing) and I'm not sure how the Emu would interact with the MPC....

For instance if I were to set a preset up on the E5000 could I trigger the samples using the MPC's pads? How would this work? e.g if I had a horn stab set to trigger on C4?

Anybody out there use this combo of kit?

Cheers

If you have a keyboard too; then all is fine and dandy. The mpc screws up the notes as far as playing them in keygroup order.
The e5000 is a very powerful sampler.
Just use any keyboard controller and you're set. do use the beat munging feature on the emu; it's a hell of a lot better at slicing up loops than the mpc. Trust me. Emu sound quality is stunning too.
get an oxygen keyboard or radium to control it and you'll have an awesome setup.

Yes. The MPC's pads can be assigned to any note number with the spin of a dial. If you need the pads to be in linear order just assign the correct note numbers... it'll take a little time but you'll only have to do this once. Or you could download a template and jus load it up and you're set.
