New apple imacs are out.. trackpad?

^^^ That was my 666th post. Hope that's not too ominous.

@coz i havent used the track pad yet.. its all boxed up still..
like Scooby said i might sell mine so i can use the £ towards a new soundcard

I find the magicmouse very easy to use.. but im thinking the trackpad will be nice for things like photoshop etc.. so may hold onto it depending on funds..

I can't decide if I want the mouse or pad either to be honest, but if they'll throw the pad in because they won't open the box then that's a no brainer. To be honest i'll probably flog the pad if I get it thrown in so you can have first dibbs if you want Coz?

You may find the mouse and trackpad work well in conjunction with each other. The multi-touch works especially well with OSX.

So what spec iMac did you go for?

I'd personally still give it a go just to see if you like the 3 and 4 finger gestures. There's also an app called Better Touch Tool which enables you to customise the trackpad and mouse with loads of additional stuff.

I went for the second option of the 21" screen size, I know there's not much difference compared to the basic model, but still extra storage and what not.

I can confirm they will let you keep the mouse if you opt for a trackpad, if you buy in-store at least. The guy who served me was also a man of music, so a simple trip turned into an excellent gear-discussion and a new chum to chat to via Soundcloud. Cool how these things work out.

To be honest I've been messing about with this trackpad here thing for a while, and I'm not feeling it in the slightest. The mouse has for more precision, which in turn enables me to work faster. I'll probably keep the pad (as you've ordered one) and use it for when I'm across the room watching films or whatever.

Cheers for the heads up on that app, could come in handy. It'd be cool to assign the different gestures to specific things in Ableton perhaps.

Moral of the story, never trust PC World.

It's .99 and gives you up to 3 programmable MIDI X/Y controllers. You can also play notes with it, definitely worth the buck.
