I would love to get that mpc 5000...what i like about it .it's the power of the synthesis...you can really give a new stamp to your drumkits...while the MV is more "shy" on this subject...
I love my MV i think MV set a new standart when it comes to worklow...i call my MV....: BAM...because every function is just one button away...and BAM...lol...
I'm really scared about spending 900$1200$ in the MPC 5000...with all the bug reported on every forum (US,EUR)...
It's really a pity...but come on it is visible as soon as you put your eyes on it that there's something wrong with that sampler...
It looks cheap...even an MPC 1000 gives a better first impression...
As far as bugs are concerned with the MPC 5000...is it a problem of RAM? 128...196 mb?? really enough for all that engine? i think not...
Generations comes generation change!! Akai tried to keep the philosophy that made the success...forgetting one thing...time and technology change!!!
The OS of any MPC is purely and simply...OUTDATED! DOnt look for any other reason.

Ps: I have my MV 8800 since january 2007...never had a single problem with it. Believe me... NOT a SINGLE problem.
I recently bought the MPC 1000...to have that legend with me...but when it comes to worklow i switch directly to the MV...I like to live with my time...
The MPC has that 90's feeling of use...ok that was the bomb back in the days...but if akai continue with betting on nostalgic people they will surely fail their next try...
AKAI or not...No one is willing to pay 1500$ for a "trouble sampler".
