Has anyone experienced the same fault?
When I switch on my MPC4000 there is no sound output for at least 10-15 minutes and as it warms up it starts to work as normally. When turned off and cools down the same problem.
I have check the power supply voltages/ripple and have replaced the ADDA pcb.
I have also tried to fault find using the freezer spray method but was unable to locate faulty component.
Please help, thanks

I contacted the akai service center and they showed no interest in repairing the mpc4000 as it is no longer supported. He informed it may be very costly and unable to get fixed.
Its the mpc4000 plus version and it has had very little use.

Not sure where you are but I have found vst service to be very helpful in the past. You have to appreciate that part of their business is in selling mpc parts and repairs though. You can maybe get an idea of whats wrong with it by asking various sales/repair centres. That said, I found cimple solutions here in the u.k to be a bit useless when I wanted info. It was a case of 'just send it in, we'll take a look...' They would have prepared me a nice bill too, got to be careful for 'send it in for a quote' type jive!

Could it be bad ram maybe? I messed with my 4k today when replacing the hd and I messed with the ram to see exactly what kind i needed and i did not put it back in right. After starting the machine and loading samples i had no output from samples only from the cd player with an audio cd in it, I almost S*hit my pants. I reseated the ram and everything went back to normal. Have you opened the machine up and checked all the connections? It could be several things, best to know exactly what it is before sending it in because it could be something you could easily fix yourself. Paying to ship something like the 4k safely with insurance back and forth will cost you an easy hundred dollars. Just some food for thought. Good luck man, I really hope you do figure it out.
